Space Hub Class

Daily Routine

Start of the Day

Children will exit their taxis at 9:00 am and go to their classroom via the main entrance.

Every day will have a soft start so the children can decompress after the journey and be ready for the day. This will include a breakfast option if they would like.

Following the soft start, we will have a Talk time (circle time). This will take place daily and is a vital time to discuss the day, any issues or concerns, life skills, health and hygiene and similar topics. This prepares them for the day.

  • Wednesday – Singing assembly in the hall.
  • Friday – Celebration assembly in Hub.

Spellings

We will have a soft spelling practice taking place every day. Please encourage your child to practise their spellings as much as they can but if it is too much after the day then we understand.

Children can log on to SpellingFrame for fun spelling games and activities.

Reading

Children can read at home as well as their daily reading to an adult in school. We use Boom Reader and you will receive log in details at the start of the term so that you can log all home reading online.

There are also books online through Epicbooks and Oxford Owl.

Lunches, Snacks and Water Bottles

We ask that children bring a named water bottle to school each day, filled with fresh water. Children will have access to their bottles throughout the day, and bottles will be sent home at the end of each day to be cleaned.

Children are welcome to bring in healthy snacks and Hub will have toast, fruit and cereals available for those who need it after their journey to school.

Each week, Children will be asked to select their lunch options from sandwiches, Jacket potatoes or hot meals.

[The menu will be available via Dojo]

Every day we have a talk time (circle time) to discuss various topics which are flexible, depending on the specific staff needs at the time. This is developed through areas such as: play, discussions, interactions, talk time and rewards for positive behaviours through both points and stardust. On Fridays, the children are encouraged to share where they have seen positive and helpful behaviours in others. This is modelled by the adults.
