Behaviour Curriculum

Achieve Believe Expect Enjoy

At Larwood School, we believe that positive behaviour is a skill that can be taught, practised, and celebrated — just like any other part of learning. Our Behaviour Curriculum sets out the social, emotional, and communication skills that help children feel safe, build relationships, and succeed both in and out of the classroom.

We teach these skills explicitly through modelling, routines, and regular opportunities to practise in real-life situations. This includes learning how to manage emotions, solve problems, communicate needs, and make positive choices. Staff use consistent, predictable approaches so that children know what to expect and feel secure.

Our focus is not on punishment, but on understanding each child as an individual and supporting them to develop the strategies they need to thrive. Together, we create a calm, nurturing environment where every child can grow, learn, and feel proud of their achievements.
