Our Equality Vision
At Larwood School, we believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels
valued and respected. We strive to ensure our staff and pupil community reflects the diversity
of society, with each individual feeling empowered to contribute fully and achieve their

The Equality Act 2010 established a unified legal framework for protecting rights across
various characteristics. This legislation replaced previous separate acts and created a
comprehensive approach to equality.
Our equality scheme embraces all protected characteristics including race, disability, gender,
age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, and gender reassignment.
Meeting Our Legal Obligations
We actively fulfil our public sector equality duty through policies and practices that promote
fairness and opportunity for all. While age is protected in employment contexts, this doesn’t
apply to pupils in schools.
